Coming early 2026.
How does ssssampler work?
Press the capture button (you can also use volume buttons, action button, and camera control button if you have them), ssssampler takes four photos with the 0.5s interval (or 2s if you have the prrrro pack). Then it composes them into a single image with four horisontal or vertical bands, depending on your phone orientation, applies style and grain, and saves in your Photos library. Will there be a subscription?
No way. ssssampler will be a one-time purchase with a very accessible price. It includes all the features for the authantic Lomo Supersampler experience. If you want extra, can buy the prrrro pack with additional features and content.Does it need full access to my Photos library?
Only if you want it to create a “ssssampler” album, delete photos from the app or favourite them. What about the Android version?
I want to make ssssampler for Android. But thing is, I’ve never used an Android phone and don’t have one. Hopefully, ssssampler sales will allow me to buy a cool CMF 2 phone and use it as my Android dev device.Does ssssampler shoot RAW?
No, in the true spirit of lomography. But you can play with styles and grain settings before you shoot. Will there be more photo styles? Custom ones?
There might be additional style packs in the future, but no custom ones — I don’t want ssssampler to bloat into something it isn’t, which is a fun lomographic camera, not an editing app.Is it going to have flash?
Thinking about that for the future updates.
My name is Nata Pokrovskaya, and I’m not a real iOS developer.I’m a photograper, narrative designer, writer, and a filmmaker. At ssssampler, I’m the Product Director, I guess — because I came up with the idea and design, while all the code was written for me by Claude. For years, I’ve desperately wanted a camera app for iPhone that would imitate Lomo Supersampler. No one seemed to have made it. And then, the vibecoding era came, so I decided to give it a try. I installed XCode, explained my vision for Claude — and in 24 hours, I had my working prototype. Then, for the next few months, it has become my passion side project (I have a day job, remember?).I named it ssssampler: 4 ’s’ stand for the 4 frames it takes to transform that pure on-the-move energy in front in the camera (or behind it) into the final composition.Seeing the app I visualised materialise has been exhilarating. But the most exciting thing happened when I gave it to photographers: seeing what they can do with something I made never stops to amaze me. I guess it’s your turn now.Have questions? Suggestions? Or just want to share your ssssampler experience with me?
